Follow along with the account from the day in the section below if you wish to make a self-guided walk of the area or to repeat the walk in your own time.
Terminalia is a festival of psychogeography and walking on and around 23rd February each year with a number of free events across the UK and the world! The 2026 theme is ROCK - join us to explore a disused quarry.
Disused quarry and nature reserve - join us on a peregrination considering the path beneath our feet, the changes to the bedrock of theland through the ages and the moments of spring bird song in the air.
There will be time to make sketches, sound records and photographs to collect into a simple artists book.
Expect slippy, muddy terrain - warm, waterproof coat and walking boots required. The main path is accessible but there are steeper smaller dirt paths.
We will go for a coffee nearby after, time permitting.
