A collection of four books titled ‘Common themes’ with photographic and written essays on an outsider’s perspective on the everyday. These books are beautifully crafted with Japanese-bound tortoise-shell stab binding and encased in a hand-made portfolio.
Yi-Chieh studied humanities for many years and has degrees in History and Classics. It was through these studies however that he became interested in the visual world. He earnestly took up photography and more recently in printmaking. He has a unique world view often seeing the incidental, the off-side or the interesting in the everyday. He is concerned with process and the differences between the ‘artist’ and the ‘technician’.
