If a book can be considered a form that collects and conveys information, how does the binder sequence that information and what happens when the reader can change the page order? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join Elaine of the Lost Path Press<\/a> to make 3 folded book spines and consider how the design and choice of different bindings can enhance the meaning and content of the book. Using these flexible structures we will make a flexible watercolour sketchbook, a variable sequence photo album and a snippets writers notebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All materials and full instructions provided but you may wish to bring some of your own photo prints or postcards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time permitting we will look at a forth variation and discuss how the bindings can be adapted and refined for a variety of other book types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop is part of the Fruitmarket’s Artists’ Bookmarket<\/a>, an annual celebration of artists\u2019 book culture. Taking place over two busy weekend days – 10am to 5pm on the 14th and 15th of May 2022<\/em><\/strong> – with stalls laid out to showcase a wide array of work.
