Edinburgh and Elsewhere’s publishing practice focuses on translating the experience of place into image, language and form. Founded by Catherine Marshall and Elaine Robson, who met through a mutual interest in photography, the work is particularly inspired by political and social currents of place. <\/p>\n\n\n

Elaine Robson distills her experience of cities, journeys and landscapes into the creation of limited edition artists’ books; she interweaves text, typography, illustration. printmaking and photography, reinventing the traditional book using intricate paper structures. She exhibits and her work can be found in the collections of the City of Edinburgh<\/a> and Edinburgh College<\/a> . Her books are on sale at Gallery 10<\/a> and Printspace Dundee<\/a>. She collaborates with other artists to bring their works and exhibitions to book form with her imprint: Lost Path Press. <\/p>\n\n\n

Catherine Marshall explores place through the lens of feminist practice. She seeks to create new spaces between photography and text, between the real and imagined. She collaborates with Berlin-based designer, Julia Stone<\/a>, Art Director of Elsewhere: A Journal of Place<\/a>. Her work is on sale in Motto books<\/a> and Zabriskie<\/a>, Berlin, Bookartbookshop<\/a>, London, Typewronger<\/a> Edinburgh and others. She has exhibited in exhibitions, most recently in Natureworks, an exhibition featuring 30 artist books on the theme of the environment at Upright Gallery<\/a> in Edinburgh. Her work is in the collection of the National Libraries Scotland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
